Arise, Shine! – Sharing Christ to the World

The Glory of the Lord

  • Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. (2) See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the people, but the LORD rises upon you and His glory shall be seen upon you. (3) Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”
  • The Glory – the manifest presence of God
  • Kabod (Hebrew) – heavy, weighty (in wealth and honor) “The weight of His Presence”
  • The visible, tangible expression of God’s POWER, beauty and CHARACTER.
  • Which can be EXPERIENCED through ENCOUNTERS with God.

 

Moses had God Encounter

    • Exodus 33:11 “The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. (18) Now show me your glory(19) And the Lord said, I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence.”  
  • Galatians 5:22-23 (Fruit of the Spirit) – Love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance (self-control).
  • Exodus 34:29 “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD.”
  • II Corinthians 3:18 “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
  • Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world… (16) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

 

Sharing Christ to the World – by manifesting His Glory

  • Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
  • Mark 16:15 “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel [of the Kingdom] to every creature. (16) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (17) And these signs shall follow them that believe(18) …they shall lay hands on the sick, and    they shall recover.”

 

7 Step Pattern – to share Christ naturally and effectively

 

  1. Smile - creates a friendly atmosphere
  2. Engage Conversation – talk to people
    • Romans 10:14 “How then shall they call on Him in who they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?”
  • Your silent witness is not enough
  1. Discover their Need
  2. Offer Prayer Impartation
  • Mark 16:18 They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
  • Become a lightning rod for Heaven!
  1. Use Discernment Listen for an instruction from God
  • Romans 8:26 (NIV) “The Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.”
  1. Share Christ ABC’s of Salvation 
  • Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
  1. Make an Appointment Discipleship 

 

We are Christ’s Ambassadors

  • II Cor. 5:20 (NIV) “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
