The Promise of God – My Glory is upon you!

  • Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. (2) See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the people, but the LORD rises upon you and His glory appears over you. (3) Nations will come to your light and kings, to the brightness of your dawn.”
  • II Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. (18) And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”
  • Revival changes you (personal), Reformation changes the World (institutional)
  • Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
    • Justified – declared righteous by God
    • “Just as if I’d never sinned”
    • Ministry of reconciliation (peace)

John 4:4 – Jesus with the Woman at the Well 

  • He “had to go through Samaria” – Led by the Holy Spirit
  • Was a Divine Appointment
  • Jesus had a Word of Knowledge
  • The woman experienced revival (personal) and reformation (changed her town)
  • John 4:34 “My food, said Jesus, is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.”

Judges 6 & 7 – Gideon’s Assignment

  1. Commissioned by God – Judges 6:12
  • New Name: “Mighty Warrior” – Go in the strength you have.
  • “I will be with you… together” – The Body of Christ
  1. Tested by God – Judges 7:2
  • 22,000 men left for fear (2/3)
  •  9,700 men failed the test (97%)
  •  300 men were chosen by God (3%)
  1. God’s Battle Plan – Judges 7:16
    • Trumpets, Torches, & Empty Jars – Your VOICE, H.S. FIRE, a BROKEN VESSEL
    • II Corinthians 4:7 “We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
  • Their Declaration: “The Sword of the LORD and of Gideon!”
  1. The Enemy Destroyed Themselves – Judges 7:22

Jesus Commissions the Church

  • Matthew 16:16 “Thou art the Christ, the son of the Living God.  (17) … flesh and blood has not revealed this unto you, but my Father which is in heaven… (18) Thou art Peter, and upon this rock (of revelation) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (18) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
  • I John 5:4 “Everyone born of God overcomes the world.  This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”
