  • Due season (God’s Time) can come at any opportunity (God’s Time) to do good!
  • I Kings 17:12 (Elijah asked widow of Zarephath for food) “As surely as the Lord your God lives, she replied, I don’t have any bread –only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug.  I’m gather-ing a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it – and die.”
  • I Kings 17:15 “She went away and did as Elijah had told her.  So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. (16) For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.”

Prayer of Dedication (4th Day of Hanukkah – Feast of Dedication)

Dear Heavenly Father, I dedicate myself afresh to You today.      I confess my deep need for your love, mercy, and forgiveness.     I humble myself under your mighty Hand & ask your forgiveness for known and unknown sins, for pride and self-centeredness.      I confess You today, as my Lord and Savior.  I place my full trust in You and lean not to my own understanding.  In all my ways I acknowledge You and I desire that You direct my paths. I commit my way unto you Lord and thank you for Your grace upon my life.   I commit to love You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and to love my neighbor as myself.  I promise to live a godly, obedient, and growing life of faith through the Spiritual disciplines of prayer, Bible study, community, and personal witness.  I ask all this in the Name of Jesus Christ and the Power of Your Holy Spirit.  Amen.
