WORDS MATTER

(Pastor Mike) 11-24-2024

  • Time To Behavior Change - James 3 said that a bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse; a small rudder on a huge ship controls the whole ship. But a word out of our mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything or destroy it!

  • “I am a superpower and more powerful than a nuclear bomb; you are free to use me to demolish, destroy, or bring about a pleasant calm. However you choose to use me just know that when you are done, my impact will be everlasting, for I am your tongue.”

  • “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” Proverbs 18:21 KJV  |   20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase (Becomes Greater) of his lips shall he be filled. Proverbs 18:20 KJV

  • The words of a [discreet and wise] man’s mouth are like deep waters [plenteous and difficult to fathom], and the fountain of skillful and godly Wisdom is like a gushing stream [sparkling, fresh, pure, and life-giving]. Proverbs 18:4 AMPC

  • Simple Obedience: a Key to Miracles | The story of Elisha/Naaman (leprosy) 2 Kings 5 “The commander of the army of the King of Syria.”

  • Naaman had two thoughts, (1) He thought about the rivers of Damascus, that they were better than all the waters of Israel. (2) He will surely come out to me, call on the name of the Lord his God, stand and wave his hands over the leprosy and I’ll be healed.

  • (And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel… 2 Kings 5:15 NKJV

  • Tell on your thoughts! Don’t be silent. Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learn… (Expedite your metamorphosis – Telling on your thoughts)

  • 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this, many become defiled; (Polluted, corrupted)

  • .Thoughts mature beneath the surface.

  • The Word of God is like a Seed. Plant it in your heart. The Bible and these two packs of seed are no different. They both must be planted to be affective.

  • (Mark 4) :3 Behold: Listen! Give attention to this!  Wayside Seed.  Stony Ground Seed.  Sown Among Thorns Seed. Good Ground Seed.

  • Sown Among Thorns: thistles grew and pressed together and utterly choked and suffocated it. (Distractions choke the Word). Wayside Seed: fell along the path, and birds came and ate it up. (Satan snatches it away immediately). Stony Ground: welcome with joy- But No Depth of soil and it withers away.

  • Stony Ground: Welcome with joy- But No Depth of heart, and it withers away. (Matthew 11:5-6) Blessed are those who are not offended in Me. (the Word) Good Ground: produces 30,60,100 times.

  • How do we defeat the enemy? Share some Words/Testimony with others.

  • And They overcame Him by The Blood of the Lamb and by The Word of Their Testimony. Revelation 12:11.

  • Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things, [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Hebrews 11:1 AMPC (see, hear, taste, smell, & touch) * Faith is the conviction of their reality.

  • “Do not say things you don’t believe or don’t want to come to pass.”

  • Saul & Jonathan - No Weapons for the Army 22 So it came about, on the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people who were with Saul and Jonathan. But they were found with Saul and Jonathan, his son. 1 Samuel 13:22

  • 6 …it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.” (after a sign from the Lord)      12 “Come up after me, for the Lord has delivered them into the hand of Israel.” (He killed 20 men)   1 Samuel 14:6,12 NKJV

  • 20 Then Saul and all the people who were with him assembled, and they went to the battle; and indeed, every man’s sword was against his neighbor, and there was very great confusion. 1 Samuel 14:20 NKJV

  • 22 So it came about, on the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people who were with Saul and Jonathan. But they were found with Saul and Jonathan, his son. 1 Samuel 13:22 NKJV

  • DAVID & GOLIATH 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:47 NKJV

  • 45 David replied to the Philistine, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

  • 46 Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel!

  • SPEAK LIFE!
