The Kingdom of God

God’s original plan for mankind: to influence earth with the culture of Heaven

Luke 17:20 “The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: (21) Neither shall they say, Lo here! Or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Matthew 6:10 “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”

We have Authority – Over the Enemy

Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you power (Gr: authority) to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power (Gr: potential) of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

I Peter 5:8Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (9) Resist him, standing firm in the faith…”

Luke 22:31 “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: (32) But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

We need to understand our Authority in Christ, and how to exercise Authority.

5 Ways to Exercise your Spiritual Authority

1. Submit to God

James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (8) Come near to God and he will come near to you…”

Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.”

Titus 2:11-12 (NIV) “For the grace of God that brings salvation… teaches us to say “NO to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”

2. Don’t be guided by your Senses

II Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

II Corinthians 10:4-5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, andbringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

3. Declare the Word

Luke 4:4 “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written…”

Isaiah 59:19 “When the enemy shall come in, like a flood the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”(The Word is the Standard)

Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…”

4. Use the Name of Jesus

Mark 16:17 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…”

Philippians 2:9-10 “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”

5. Identify the enemy, and bind him

Matthew 12:29 “How can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? And then he will spoil his house.”

John 14:30 “For the prince of the world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”
