What does this Faith-Walk look like? - Acts 4:7-20
1. Boldness
· Acts 4:13 “Now when they say the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”
· II Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and of a soundmind.”
2. Miracles
· Acts 4:16 “What shall we do to these men? For that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.”
· Hebrews 2:4 “God also testified to it [salvation] by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.”
3. Conflict
· Acts 4:17 “But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.”
· II Timothy 3:12 “Yea, and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
4. Testimony
· Acts 4:18-20 “Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God, for we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
· II Corinthians 4:7 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay. To show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us, we are… Troubled on every side, yet not distressed, Perplexed, but not in despair, Persecuted, but not forsaken, Cast down, but not destroyed; (10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”
· Isaiah 58:11“The LORD will guide you (me) always; he will satisfy your (my) needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your (my) frame. You (I) will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
