“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”   Psalm 27:14

Joshua commanded the people, “Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!” (Joshua 6:10,NIV)

Sometimes marching silently around the walls of your “Jericho-sized” problem can be most trying. Seven days, maybe seven years of patient obedience may bring with it the suffering of mockery and ridicule. Be faithful.  One of the most consistent elements of God’s deliverance plan seems to be a time of waiting.

“…blessed are all they that wait for him.” (Isaiah 30:18c)

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart….” (Proverbs 3:5a)

“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him…” (Psalm 37:5a)

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)

All of these verses represent “waiting” promises from God’s Word. Remember, the results are worth waiting for. The day will come when you will hear the words “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city!” (Joshua 6:16b, NIV)

PRAY: “Father, when I review my past, I stand in awe at Your  longsuffering. Help me to learn to wait in perfect peace. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
