The Power of God

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:6-7

A spirit of fear is one of the most paralyzing forces of the devil. The Bible says,“There is no fear in LOVE; but perfect LOVE casteth out fear. . . .” (I John 4:18a). (Emphasis supplied.) God is love. So it clearly can be seen that a “spirit of fear” is the very absence of God.

How then can a Holy Spirit-filled Christian be dominated by a “spirit of fear”?Simply by allowing the Holy Spirit of God to be dormant and unmoved through lack of use. . . lack of active praise. . . lack of active prayer. . . lack of Bible study. All of this lack of activity allows spiritual arthritis to set in and the door to fear to spring wide open.

Friend, you have resident within you the POWER OF GOD to overcome fear. Stir it up today with some vigorous activity. . . SPIRITUAL ACTIVITY. May the very hand of God be laid upon you to stir up the gift within you.

“Father God, I need Your love, Your power, and a mind of wisdom and understanding. Rest Your mighty hand upon me today, and stir up my gift. I will rejoice in You! In the Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.”
