The Passion of God

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.” Matthew 3:11

The “fire” of the Holy Ghost gives you the same passion as God; that is, a passion for people. That Holy Ghost fire is your enabling power to be a witness to God’s redemptive plan for mankind. During Isaiah’s vision recorded in Isaiah 6:1-8, God’s seraphim took a live coal (fire) from off the altar and laid it on his mouth to signify the purging of his sin. Then Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord asking him to go preach.

Before the touch of the burning coal, Isaiah said, “Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips…”; but, after being touched with Holy Ghost fire, he answered the call of the Lord. “Here am I; send me.” God’s touch makes all the difference!

Let God’s Spirit touch the burning coal to your lips so you too can speak with passion and with a pure voice the love and forgiveness of God to all who will call upon Him. The fire of God will burn away all apathy and indecision, causing you to pursue the needs of others with the compassion of God.

Be baptized today with Holy Ghost fire!
