The Meaning Of Christmas

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11

The words of a new song, given to me by the Holy Spirit on a Christmas morning, express the true meaning of Christmas:

Verse 1
Christmas is a time for loving
Friends and family;
Touching one another, to say that we care;
Giving gifts so freely,
Looking to the One whose birthday reminds us
That we can be free from sin.
I’m glad that it’s Christmas; let’s remember
The GREATEST GIFT GIVEN!

Chorus:
His Name is Jesus, Savior, Healer of my heart; He is Master, my Redeemer, He never will depart.
He’s more than a Babe in a manger;
His Spirit lives today,
Touching the hearts of people
Looking for a better way.

Verse 2:
Colored lights and Christmas trees,
Santa Claus and nativities
Make it confusing to understand why
Each year we celebrate.
But that Shining Light, born in a manger,
Sent from God above,
Gave His life on a tree so we
Could experience His love.
