“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13

Even in a “free” country, you are not free to do whatever you please. There are laws in place to bring restraint and set standards that promote health and well-being for others.  So it is in the kingdom of God you are called to worship God in liberty without the bondage of man-made laws. However, you must always evaluate your actions according to God’s standards.

In I Corinthians 10:23, Paul states, “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.” Later, in Verse 31, he says, “…do all to the glory of God.”  As you walk in liberty, apply these questions to all that you do:

1)  Is it PROFITABLE for the Gospel?

2)  Does it EDIFY the body of Christ?

3)  Does it GLORIFY God?

Live your life by God’s standard and you can be sure that you will bring service to God and to others.

PRAY: “Father, help me to ‘stand fast…in the liberty wherewith Christ [has] made [me] free,’ and help me not to be ‘entangled again with the yoke of bondage.’ I purpose to live my life according to Your standards. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
