ABC’S to Following Christ

“He hath shewed thee, 0 man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”  Micah 6:8

God is so good to outline exactly what He expects of His children and how they should live their lives as His chosen people. The Bible is your “Daily Guide to Living.” You must read it to get your instructions on a daily basis. Traditional religion tends to complicate God with an endless list of methods and programs, but digging into God’s Word and getting to know Him for yourself can be as easy as the ABC’s. Here is how you can learn to follow Christ:

A-ffirm your allegiance to God.

B-ow to Christ’s authority in your life.

C-ommit all you have, are, or hope to be to Jesus.

D-ethrone your own will and way.

Study your Bible today and make your own list of what God is showing and teaching you. It is as easy as the ABC’s.

Solomon sums up and simplifies his conclusions in Ecclesiastes 12:13 with these words, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” That is pretty easy to understand… isn’t it!

PRAY: “Dear Father, teach me Your ways and help me to understand clearly as I read Your Word. Be that ‘lamp unto my feet, and light unto my path.’  Amen.”
