“And David said…Is there not a cause?” I Samuel 17:29

David, a small shepherd boy, stood defiantly before mighty Goliath wondering why nobody would go up to fight him. “Is there not a cause?” he asked. He recognized that the giant was standing in the way of God’s people and God’s plan. He recognized the spiritual warfare that was raging between good and evil.

The armies of Israel were all dressed for battle. They were properly trained and lined up at the battle lines. They had the problem well defined. Yet, there was no fighting going on.

Without clear focus on the CAUSE OF CHRIST, you will do the same. There are so many things to distract you from the Father’s business. As you scramble to make a living and accomplish the many demands of life, you can become comfortable with the spiritual giants of darkness that rob you of your peace, your joy, and your witness.

Take up the CAUSE OF CHRIST today. Recognize the battle. “…Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7b)

PRAY: “Renew my VISION today, 0 Lord, so that I may see clearly the CAUSE OF CHRIST.  Give me the strength to resist the enemy and walk in godliness as Your witness in my home and community. I petition in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
