“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13 (NIV)

God wants you to be a “radical” Christian. Before you let the word frighten you, distinguish it apart from the word “fanatical.” Look at the dictionary definitions:

Radical – 1) Relating to, or growing from the root or stem of a plant; 2) relating to the origin; fundamental; 3) marked by a considerable departure from the usual or traditional, tending to make extreme changes in existing views, habits, conditions, or institutions.

Fanatical – 1) Relating to fantasy or imagination; 2) marked by excessive enthusiasm without basis in experience or reason.

These definitions reveal that NORMAL Christian behavior should be “radical”; you are rooted in Christ Jesus, relating to your origin, and marked by a life-style of different views, habits, and conditions.

Christians are “radical” but not “fanatical.” Faith is not based on fantasy or imagination, but on the all-powerful Word of God! Get radical…it is NORMAL behavior.

PRAY: “Father, I believe You delight in changing people from worn-out traditions of men back to Your original plan of holy boldness.   Make me ‘radical’ for Jesus. In His Name, amen.”
